Give to the Max 2020

Check this page through November 20th to track our progress and watch our behind the scenes videos and funny donation incentives!

We will update this page periodically.

Last Update: November 19th at 8:30PM. Videos of hot sauce, bean boozled, blind box, and international food challenges are below.

One of Alexandria, Minnesota’s most unique traits is that we are home to not one, not two, but THREE museums! For a community this size, this is something truly remarkable and shows the dedication of the community to preserving the past and their commitment to sustaining all three.

All three museums are joining together in our efforts to raise funds on Give to the Max Day (November 19). Until then, you can donate early to qualify us for additional grant money.

As funds are raised, we will be posting behind the scenes videos of our museums and videos of our staff pushing their limits with treats like spicy food and lutefisk.

What is Give to the Max Day? (#GTMD20)

Give to the Max Day is Minnesota’s charitable giving holiday, ocurring this year on November 19th. Giving a gift now through November 19th on our fundraiser pages make your local museums eligible for bonus grants from GiveMN that have been sponsored by other foundations.

Give to the Max Day was created in 2009. That initial spark touched off an outpouring of generosity — $14 million in 24 hours. Since then, Give to the Max Day has become Minnesota’s annual giving holiday, raising nearly $200 million in its first 11 years. Every year, thousands of organizations and individuals generate donations and excitement for Minnesota causes that are working to improve the quality of life for all Minnesotans.
