Seventy-one cemeteries are documented in Douglas County.  Records for these cemeteries are available at the Douglas County Historical Society. The members of the Douglas County Cemetery Association work to preserve this history and heritage, and update and improve the records.  The publication “Douglas County Cemeteries: An Information and Location Guide” is available at the Historical Society.  It lists all known cemeteries in Douglas County, has a map of locations, and a brief history of each cemetery.  Burials are not listed in this booklet.

An interactive BING map for the locations of Douglas County cemeteries can be found by clicking HERE.

Mission Statement: The Douglas County Cemetery Association will work hard to fulfill its purpose of being a resource for member cemeteries in dealing with the operational problems that arise, creating mutually beneficial relationships between our members, promoting our cemeteries as the guardians of our county’s heritage and as a place of lasting tribute to the memory of those who have gone before us.

The Annual Meeting of the Cemetery Association is the fourth Thursday in April. Meeting location varies and will be announced. We can be reached through the Douglas County Historical Society.
