DCHS MN Hotdish Bake-Off, Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, 11am-1pm, Broadway Ballroom, Alexandria, MN

This Family Friendly event features a hotdish competition, silent auction, and fun activities for all ages as we celebrate Mr. Knute Nelson’s 176th birthday.

The Douglas County Historical Society will be hosting a Hotdish Bake-Off and Silent Auction fundraiser on Saturday, February 2nd, 2019, to support our continuing mission, educational programs, and the repair and maintenance of our National Registry of Historic Places-designated home of Sen. Knute and Nicoline Nelson. Patrons will purchase sampling tickets and vote for their favorite hotdish, with the proceeds benefitting DCHS.

Information about organizing a Hotdish Team Below:

Great organizations to form Hotdish Teams would be churches, non-profits, businesses, and community groups from Douglas County, Minnesota.
The event will be held at the Broadway Ballroom in Alexandria, MN on February 2, 2019, 11am – 1pm.

During our Hotdish Bake-Off, local teams will be competing for Douglas County’s Best Hotdish.  If you have any information about your church/non-profit/business/group, we encourage you to have those materials at your table so Hotdish tasters can get to know your organization!
Our goal is to have all Hotdish Teams registered by Jan. 21st so we can ensure a smooth and well-organized competition.

A Hotdish Team would be responsible for the following:
1.) Three 9×12 pans of a Signature Hotdish from your Church/Group
2.) People to staff your table from set up at 10:30am to pack up after 1pm on February 2, 2019.

Broadway Ballroom will provide tables and chafing dishes.

Hotdishes must be made in a church or commercial kitchen.

Hotdishes may not contain home-canned goods.
Home crockpots/slow cookers may not be used but commercial warming units are permitted.
