Triple Chocolate and Chocolate Drizzle! Who Can Resist?

Don’t miss our Ethnic Bake Sale on Friday, December 4, 2015,  10 am to 2 pm. Along with our traditional favorites, such as kolachy, lefse, flatbread, krumkaka, pfeffernuss, and spritz, Mary has been finding recipes for delicacies from other countries. Shown below are Triple Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, and French Christmas Cookies.  Recipe below photo:

French Christmas Cookies (from Judy Wilder, of Mankato, MN)

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 2 -3/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups finely chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • Topping:  1-1/4 cups milk chocolate chips, melted for drizzle

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in milk. Gradually beat graham cracker crumbs in to creamed mixture. Stir in walnuts and 2 cups chocolate chips.

Fill miniature foil muffin liners 3/4 full. Place 1 inch apart on a 15  x 10 x 1 inch baking pan. Bake 10-12 minutes or until set. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Drizzle with melted chocolate, let stand until set. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator, or freezer.
