- Alexandria boasts a historical residential district, referred to by locals as "the Silk Stocking District." Architectural design and history of the families who built the homes are presented by our tour guide. It takes about an hour and a half, so be prepared to be on your feet!

- This tour is about the history of Alexandria's main street, the architectural design of the old buildings, and a look at the businesses and people that started the town in 1858. The tour takes about an hour and a half, so be prepared to be on your feet!

- What specific village do YOU want to learn about? We have archive photos and history on each of our villages. Slide show or PowerPoint presentations are available.

- The rich history of churches in Douglas County is explored during this PowerPoint presentation. Time is allowed for question and discussion period.

- There is so much life in a cemetery! A PowerPoint presentation with pictures offers an opportunity to discuss and share stories about your ancestors and our heritage.

- Watch for details on actual bus tours in Douglas County. Tours will be scheduled during the summer months for the northeast, northwest, southeast and southwest parts of the county. Call for details and scheduled times.

- Our beautiful collection of aprons, the history of the apron, and humorous stories about the apron, are brought to you in this presentation. Time is allowed for reflections and reminiscing. Contact us for more information.

- Portrayals of women in history who influenced the business, education, church and political community of Douglas County. The women portrayed may be Clara Kinkead, an early settler; Theresa Thomas Hicks, entrepreneur; Eva Emerson Wold, activist; Nicolina Nelson and more!

- Dig out those old greeting cards and autograph books! Think of the stories they inspire. We share parts of our vast collection and encourage audience participation.

- A woman's best friends are her accessories! Our wonderful collection of purses, pins and pumps is shared with you! Bring your most unusual purse, pin or pair of pumps to the program.

- Have you ever browsed through your mother's recipe box? What notes has she left behind? Bring your favorite recipe and the story behind it.

- Minnesota's only foreign-born Governor tells his story. Great for classrooms of all ages, or come to his house and hear his story!
