Douglas County Cemetery Association

More people are buried in Douglas County Cemeteries than the 30,000 now living in the county. The oldest structures in our cemeteries are the white marble markers and the granite monuments that mark the remains of our earliest settlers. These fading gravestones with their names, dates and words give us a glimpse of our heritage.

Mission Statement: The Douglas County Cemetery Association will work hard to fulfill its purpose of being a resource for member cemeteries in dealing with the operational problems that arise, creating mutually beneficial relationships between our members, promoting our cemeteries as the guardians of our county’s heritage and as a place of lasting tribute to the memory of those who have gone before us.

The Annual Meeting of the Cemetery Association is the fourth Thursday in April. Meeting location varies and will be announced.

The Douglas County Historical Society is here to discover, preserve
and disseminate the history of the county and its people.
